Frederator Studios of Adventure Time fame will produce the animated series. Costume Quest will be available exclusively for Amazon Prime members in 2018.

"“The creative talent behind Pete the Cat and Costume Quest have a sensibility and pedigree that will resonate well with our customers," Head of Kids Programming at Amazon Studios Tara Sorensen said. She added that the company is "thrilled" to collaborate with "such innovative and visionary thinkers."

Frederator Studios confirmed the news in its official post

"Well, the bag's out of the cat - we'll be producing a Costume Quest series for Amazon," the studio wrote. The studio also revealed the creative team that will work on the project.

"We're counting down the days till the Costume Quest premiere in 2018," it announced.

'Costume Quest' Goes To Prime

The animated series will be based on the 2010 game Costume Quest by Double Fine Productions. The game tells the story of twin siblings doing trick-or-treat one Halloween night. It was developed by Tasha Sounart, Double Fine's former lead animator and now an artist for Pixar. The animated series will be based on the game's world.

According to Amazon, Costume Quest is a "funny and mysterious" series for 6- to 11-year old kids. The story goes on the adventures of four kids in the sleepy town of Auburn Pines and their quest against the dark forces that lurk in their place.

"To overcome obstacles and achieve their goals, they must learn to unlock and master the magical powers of supernormal costumes - with each costume comes a new set of transformations and powers," wrote Amazon.

Costume Quest is one of the two animated series greenlighted by Amazon. The other one is Pete the Cat, which is based on an award-winning book.

Both series will premiere in 2018 for Amazon Prime members.
