A smart fifth-grader successfully pitched an idea to Tesla CEO Elon Musk and thanks to that, we might soon see a cool Tesla competition.

Musk is an active Twitter user, often offering updates, making announcements, or responding to questions from Tesla fans on the microblogging site. It's good to see a leader so involved, and it's even better when he's also listening to suggestions, even if they come from a kid.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk Takes Pitch From Fifth-Grader

A smart fifth-grader named Bria wrote a letter to Musk, making a well-reasoned suggestion for Tesla to spice things up. Musk not only read the letter, but he actually agreed to take that advice and put it in practice, meaning that Tesla will hold a contest for homemade advertisements.

Bria started her letter by noting that she appreciates Tesla for being smart and environmentally friendly, but she has a suggestion. She wrote the letter as part of a school project and her father, Steven, published it on Twitter for Musk to see.

Fan-Made Tesla Commercials

"I have noticed that you do not advertise, but many people make homemade commercials for Tesla and some of them are very good, they look professional and they are entertaining," Bria wrote in her letter, as published by her dad on Twitter. "So, I think you should run a competition on who can make the best homemade Tesla commercial and the winners will get their commercial aired."

Bria drives her point home by highlighting that Tesla wouldn't have to spend any time or money on advertising and Tesla fans would love to do homemade commercials. As a prize for the competition, Bria suggests that Tesla could give winners free Supercharging for a year "or a Model 3 Easter Egg or something."

It's no big secret that Tesla has steered clear of commercials so far, but Bria's idea actually makes a lot of sense and apparently Musk thinks it's a great suggestion.

This Kid Is Going Places

Bria notes in her letter that she wants to be a politician when she grows up and she plans to make sure that Tesla cars will be available everywhere, since they're not currently available in Michigan and having to drive to another state to get a car is "such a hassle." Moreover, Bria says that as a politician, she plans to make sure the government protects the environment.

With such a great pitch from an aspiring politician, how could Musk say no? The Tesla CEO says the company will do it, which means that we should soon hear about a Tesla competition for homemade commercials.

It remains to be seen when this idea will be put in practice, or what prizes will actually be on the table, but it's nonetheless inspiring to see the CEO of a major company such as Tesla being so open to ideas from fans, regardless of their age. Last but not least, it's no less inspiring to see a bright and ambitious kid with a supporting father going the extra mile.
