Samsung is now rolling out the much-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 models.

However, the software update for the tablet is currently being pushed out in Europe, but this suggests that users of the Galaxy Tab S2 in the United States need not wait much longer.

Earlier in January, reports suggested that the Galaxy Tab S2 would benefit from the Android 7.0 Nougat update in the coming months. This speculation was fueled by the fact that a number of variants of the Galaxy Tab S2, which released in 2015, were spotted on Wi-Fi Alliance. The WFA had given certification to the international variants of the tablet.

According to a SamMobile report, the current software update for the Galaxy Tab S2's 9.7-inch and 8-inch variants is being pushed out in Germany and Italy.

"After rolling out the Nougat update to its high-end smartphones, Samsung has started rolling out the Android 7.0 update to the Galaxy Tab S2," notes the publication.

The LTE-only 8-inch model of the Galaxy Tab S2, bearing the number SM-T715, is being updated to Android 7.0 Nougat in Italy. In Germany, the Wi-Fi only 9.7-inch model of the Galaxy Tab S2 is getting a taste of Android 7.0 Nougat. This tablet bears the model number SM-T810.

Android 7.0 Nougat's roll out for the Galaxy Tab S2 was also confirmed by a user on Twitter, who shared the details of what the update brings.

The latest update for the Samsung tablet brings in its folds a gamut of new features, which will find favor with users.

The new features include the arrival of the Gamer Launcher app, which will be installed automatically post the application of Android 7.0 Nougat update.
