From toys that pose health hazards to salads with dead bat, companies have been busy with product recalls and investigations these past months. To keep you updated, here are a few products you may own that have been recalled by their companies.

 Target's Easter Toys

Just before Easter, Target issued a recall of over half a million water-absorbing toys. The affected toys are Easter Grow Toys, Hatch Your Own Dino, and Hatch & Grow Easter Eggs, and are the sort of toys that grow and expand when exposed to water.

Though no injuries have been reported concerning the toys, the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the fast track recall due to the health hazards that can occur should children ingest the small toys. If ingested, the toys could expand inside the body and cause severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and can be life threatening especially since the product may not show up in X-rays.

Contaminated Salad

Fresh Express was quick to do a product recall of their 5-ounce Organic Spring Mix after two customers in Florida found a dead bat while eating the product. Though rabies is rarely contracted by humans, authorities still do not want to take the chance.

The CDC quickly conducted an investigation, but did not have enough information to rule out rabies. What's more, State health officials are also evaluating the individuals who filed the complaint.

The recalled prepackaged salads were only distributed in Walmart, and no other cases of bat material in any other packs.

Garbage Disposals

Garbage disposals of the 3/4 and 1 horsepower disposal have been recalled due to a potentially harmful feature. Though no injuries have yet to be reported, there are already 22 reports of a metal component flying off from the disposal during operation, hitting three consumers to date.

The CPSC warns consumers of the product to immediately stop using the product and to contact Anaheim Manufacturing for a free replacement. The complete list of affected models can be found in the CPSC site.

Teething Tablets

Standard Homeopathic Company is recalling all remaining stocks of Hyland's Baby Nighttime Teething Tablets and Hyland's Baby Teething Tablets after FDA officials found irregularities in the labeling of the products.

Though the FDA warned parents about using the teething tablets, a recall is now underway to prevent infants from ingesting too much belladonna alkaloid, a substance that can cause seizures, difficulty or slowed breathing, and muscle weakness.

All-Terrain Vehicles

Polaris has issued a recall for all recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) from all model year 2015 Polaris Ranger XP 900, XP 900 EPS, and CREW 900. No injuries have been reported, but the recall was incited by 13 incident reports concerning the recalled vehicles, including five fires, and a possible malfunction in the power steering unit, posing crash hazards to users.

A complete list of the recalled ROVs is listed in the CPSC site, along with consumer care contact numbers.
