Microsoft has unveiled the Games with Gold for the month of August 2017, free to download for Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners with Xbox Live Gold subscriptions.

For next month, the free games are Bayonetta, Slime Rancher, Trials Fusion, Red Faction: Armageddon.

Xbox Games With Gold For August 2017

The free Games with Gold for August 2017 was announced through an official post on the Xbox Wire.

The first game in the August 2017 lineup is the over-the-top action game Bayonetta, which is coming to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 as part of the Xbox's Backward Compatibility program. Bayonetta, released in April on Steam with 4K support and featuring the last survivor of the ancient clan of Umbra Witches, will be available from Aug. 1 to Aug. 15.

Also available starting Aug. 1 is Slime Rancher, an open-world farming simulator that will be making its console debut on the Xbox One. The game, which will allow players to take care of a galactic farm filled with cute and slimy creatures, can be downloaded until Aug. 31.

Trials Fusion, the latest game in the motorbike platformer series, will become available for the Xbox One under Games with Gold from Aug. 16 to Sept. 15. Players will need to pull off a wide range of stunts to tackle various levels and challenges.

Lastly, Red Faction: Armageddon will also come to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 under the Backward Compatibility program. The third-person shooter will be available under Games with Gold from Aug. 16 to Aug. 31, taking the place of Bayonetta for the second half of the month.

Gamers who haven't can still download some of the free Games with Gold titles for July 2017. Grow Up and Runbow for the Xbox One will be available until July 31 and Aug. 15, respectively, while LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game for the Xbox 360 will be available until July 30.

Xbox One X Coming Soon

The free Games with Gold titles for the month of August 2017 is an improvement compared to what was offered for July 2017, but Xbox fans are likely more excited about the pending launch of the Xbox One X.

The Xbox One X, dubbed as "the world's most powerful console," was unveiled at this year's E3. According to Xbox head Phil Spencer, Xbox One X preorders should start soon, so gamers looking to purchase the console should already have their $499 ready.
