iOS 11: New Features You'll Love

iOS 11 brings over an insane amount of new features, especially for iPad users. The changes are extremely significant, completely changing the way iPads are used. Here are just some of those:

A new Files app: iOS 11 changes the way iCloud Drive looks by turning it into a Files app that works much like any regular file browser on a PC or Mac. The app lets users browse files stored in iCloud, on the local device, and other third-party storage services.

Scan and sign documents: iPad users can use the new Document Scanner in the iPad version of Notes to scan receipts, business cards, and other files. The app automatically resizes, crops, and color-corrects them. Sign it or add an annotation with the Apple Pencil.

New Apple Pencil features: Speaking of Apple Pencil, iOS 11 brings a lot of new functionalities into Apple's stylus. Users can soon add annotations to PDFs and screenshots more easily. Also, tapping the lock screen with the Pencil will let users take notes instantly.

Split View multitasking: Multitasking and Split screen view are more intuitive and less of an eyesore thanks to iOS 11. iPad users will be able to open a second app from the dock and activate Split View, which enables two apps at once. With the new Files app and this, the iPad is becoming more and more similar to a computer.

Drag and drop: How this feature wasn't added in the beginning is sort of unbelievable. iOS 11 brings drag and drop capabilities to iPad. Use it to drag highlighted text, images, and files from one app to another when using Split View.

New App Store: The new App Store gets revamped in iOS 11. There aren't any groundbreaking features, but the interface has improved, and finding games is much easier since they're now in a separate category.

Type to Siri: iOS 11 enables users to type their requests and commands to Siri instead of speaking them out. It's just like texting Siri.

The above is just a sampling of iOS 11. Make sure to check out Apple's website to know discover every nook and cranny of its most significant software update in years.

iOS 11 rolls out Sept. 19.
