An adorable little girl, living in an age when touchscreens can be found in most mobile devices, just can't figure out how to use the Nintendo Game Boy Color.

The Game Boy Color, which was launched by Nintendo in 1998 after the original Game Boy in 1989, is many times older compared to the girl and shows the rapid development of technology over the past few decades.

Little Gamer Girl Confused By Game Boy Color

Chris Cohoon, who goes by the handle chippewaChris, uploaded footage of his daughter with a Game Boy Color on the Videos subreddit.

In the video, the little girl can be seen holding a green Game Boy Color and tapping various parts of the portable video game device's screen using different fingers. The Game Boy has several buttons in its bottom half, but the little girl just ignores them and remains fixated on the display. She appears to be both frustrated and confused, and walked off with the Game Boy still in hand, and still tapping on its screen.

It is easy to figure out exactly what is happening in the video. The little gamer girl was likely used to operating various mobile devices by tapping on their touchscreens. The technology, of course, was not yet available during the time of the Game Boy Color.

Older gamers will feel a rush of nostalgia when holding a Game Boy Color, particularly due to the device being the home of popular titles such as Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, and various The Legend of Zelda games. However, when the portable console is given to a child who was born and raised in the touchscreen era, all it does is cause confusion. It appears that the young people of today simply could not understand how a device can be used if it does not have a touchscreen.

Nintendo Game Boy Color vs Nintendo Switch

The Game Boy Color was discontinued in 2010 after the Nintendo DS was released in 2004. That particular portable console has since seen many variations, but the device that Nintendo is currently more focused on is the Nintendo Switch.

The Nintendo Switch, of course, has a touchscreen, which in the eyes of the little gamer girl already makes it a better device because she can actually use it. Nintendo Switch sales have regularly beaten those of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but Nintendo Switch supply is expected to be insufficient in the holiday season.
