How about this for a Nintendo Switch advantage: the Korg Gadget, a music production app, is coming to the hybrid console in the spring of 2018.

The Nintendo Switch success has been well documented and has brought Nintendo back to relevance in the video game industry. However, if the hybrid console can prove that it can be used for more than just gaming, it may be able to push Nintendo to even greater heights.

Nintendo Switch Korg Gadget App: What Do We Know About It?

Korg Gadget, first released for the iOS and Mac, is an end-to-end music production suite that will offer a whole new experience to the Nintendo Switch.

It appears that the Korg Gadget app coming to the Nintendo Switch will be a port of the iOS and Mac software, with a few notable changes. First of all, the Nintendo Switch version will work with the hybrid console's Joy-Cons and support motion controls, with up to four users at a time. It is unclear how exactly the motion controls will be used to create music, but Japanese publication 4gamer said that tilting the Joy-Con will write corresponding notes on a certain scale.

Exporting music on Korg Gadget for Nintendo Switch will also be complicated. Instead of saving the tracks to microSD cards, users are required to connect an auxiliary cable from the headphone jack of the Nintendo Switch to a 3.5mm input on a PC and then copy the music through another music production software. Hopefully, a later update will allow the music to be simply transferred to microSD cards, as that will make things a lot easier for users.

There is no price yet for Korg Gadget on the Nintendo Switch, though the iOS version of the app carried a price tag of $40 when it was launched in 2014.

Nintendo Switch vs PlayStation 4, Xbox One

The Korg Gadget app arriving on the Nintendo Switch will be a unique advantage for the hybrid console, as there have been no recent music production software on the PlayStation and Xbox platforms. Perhaps the most popular one was MTV Music Generator 3, which was released for the PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox.

While games such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey drive sales, the Nintendo Switch will be able to differentiate itself from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One through software such as Korg Gadget and for eventually allowing gamers to also access Netflix and other on-demand services while on the go.
