Customers looking to buy either the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL just in time for the holidays may take advantage of the discounts that are now being offered in the online Google Store.

The 64 GB Pixel 2 and 128 GB Pixel 2 are now being sold at only $599 and $699, respectively, for discounts of $50. Meanwhile, the 64 GB Pixel 2 XL can now be purchased for $774 and the 128 GB Pixel 2 XL for only $874, representing price cuts of $75.

The offered discounts are applicable to all available colors for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The promotion runs until Dec. 31, but for customers who would like to receive the smartphone before the holidays, it would be best to place an order as soon as possible.

Even with the discounted prices, customers will still be able to avail Google's trade-in program for further savings of up $435 in exchange for an eligible smartphone. You may have heard that Google sends trade-in kits in flimsy, bubble wrap-lined envelopes that sometimes result in damaged devices, but the company has replaced those with padded cardboard boxes due to customer backlash.

Is It Time To Buy The Pixel 2?

Now might be the perfect time for customers to buy the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL from the Google Store to take advantage of the discounted prices. Google also recently released AR stickers with Star Wars and Stranger Things themes, which will be a huge bonus for fans of either or both franchises.

Potential customers, however, should be aware of the issues in Google's smartphones, particularly with the Pixel 2 XL.

The latest issue on the larger Pixel 2 is that the recent Android 8.1 update reportedly slowed down its fingerprint scanner. Google is already working on a fix for the problem, but users can activate the Always On feature in the meantime as a workaround, though that would mean shorter battery lives.

The fingerprint scanner issue joins a long line of problems that Pixel 2 XL owners have faced, mostly related to the device's display and including unresponsive edges, flashing screens, and burn-in issues.
