AirSelfie, a flying drone that captures selfies in midair and integrates with most popular iOS and Android smartphones, was launched in March 2017.

During CES 2018, Stefano Cabella, CEO of AirSelfie, announced the second generation camera drone, called AirSelfie2, making it the first product launch at CES.

AirSelfie COO Carl Ivarsson talks with Tech Times about launching AirSelfie2 at CES 2018, AirSefie2's battery life, upgraded smartphone app, and the development process for AirSelfie2.

Congrats on the announcement of AirSelfie2. Was this your first time launching a new product at CES 2018?
Yes, it is our first time at CES! We are thrilled at the responses we have received from consumers at the show.

AirSelfie2 boasts longer battery life, an enhanced camera and an upgraded app, making it easier to share photos. How much more flight time do pilots get with the AirSelfie2 vs the original AirSelfie?
The flight time for the AirSelfie2 is up to four minutes, compared with the original AirSelfie, which is up to three minutes. The accompanying power bank will allow frequent users to quickly charge the AirSelfie anywhere and at any time.

Can you talk about AirSelfie's upgraded smartphone app?
Both the iOS and Android apps have a new and updated interface and user experience with several improved functions. It will be more user friendly, more functional and more stylish.

The original AirSelfie has a 5-megapixel camera. Now, the drone was upgraded with a 12-megapixel camera. What are some of the differences users will notice when using the AirSelfie2?
With higher resolution, the AirSelfie2 can take sharper and more colorful images. It also has better video quality due to improved hardware. Additionally, the AirSelfie2 is better at taking images in various light conditions.

Can you tell us a little about the development process for AirSelfie2? What it's like creating a second generation drone?
With the AirSelfie2, we benefit from experience both from the previous development process as well as feedback from the marketplace. This has helped us create an improved product, making the consumer experience even stronger. Our ambition was very high and during the development process, and there was a lot of pressure on the team to exceed expectations. Post-launch, the feedback has been fantastic. We are very proud of the AirSelfie2.

Do you have any plans to release the AirSelfie2 in any additional colors?
For now, the AirSelfie2 will be available in four colors: Black, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold.

How much will the AirSelfie2 cost when it's launched in March?
The AirSelfie2 will retail for $299 on our website and through select retailers.

Any new devices the AirSelfie2 can work with?
The AirSelfie2 is compatible with all iOS and Android mobile devices. For recharging on the go, it works with external USB power banks. We continuously update the app so that it is able to work well with all the latest smartphone models and operating systems.
