Besides the trailer for the remake of Final Fantasy VII, Square Enix has been pretty quiet about the game. The trailer was released at E3, but that was more than two years ago already. Square Enix will now be unveiling some details for the upcoming release.

New footage of the game will be shown at an exhibition at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo next week.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Square Enix's exhibition at the event will focus on the history of the Final Fantasy series. Scenes and image boards from the Final Fantasy series will be featured at the event. It will also feature some new content from the Final Fantasy VII Remake.

The title of the exhibition is "Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition - Farewell Story Exhibition."

It's been more than two years since Square Enix has said anything about the remake. The latest update when it came to the game was in May 2017, when it came to light that Square Enix was no longer with third-party studio CyberConnect2 on the remake. Square Enix would continue to develop the game but only in-house.

News of the change came during a stream of Mobius Final Fantasy when Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII main programmer Naoki Hamaguchi announced that he would be taking over the project.

Major news for the game could be expected to come out at E3 2018, if Square Enix has any news at all.

Lack Of Information

Square Enix have been cagey about announcing a release date for the remake. During a financial overview for Square Enix, president Yosuke Matsuda announced that the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 and the Final Fantasy VII Remake would be "in the next three years or so."

There were also two new screenshots from the remake that were released almost a year ago that raised the hopes of fans waiting for the release, When the screenshots were shown, game director Tetsuya Nomura said he wanted to show a video of gameplay but was voted down by his colleagues.

Fans are currently hungry for any details of the beloved game. It was the first in the Final Fantasy series to be in 3D. The game also brings emotions out in players who remember the death of Aerith as a pivotal moment in the game.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was rumored to be released in 2017 early in the year, but nothing came of the rumors.
