This weekend, LG is geared to make an impact during the 2018 Mobile World Congress with the K8 and K10 even without the G7's appearance.

Previously, rumors suggested that the manufacturer might unveil the flagship mobile during the CES 2018t earlier in January. When it did not, speculation hinted that it is slated for this year's MWC show in Barcelona, Spain.

However, a company insider noted that executives pushed back yet again and requested its mobile phone team to revisit the design and hardware.

Upgraded Models To Buy Time

It has been the common practice for major manufacturers to showcase their flagship models during the annual mobile technology show. Hence, it's a bit surprising to know that LG decided to delay the debut of its G7 to sometime in April.

In its place, however, are this year's hardware refresh models, which have supposedly received upgrades to its imaging capabilities. These smartphones are marketed as entry-range models but the company claims that the K8 and K10 build quality should impress most people with an emphasis on its camera improvements.

Notable Features, According To LG

With the absence of a flagship variant on display, LG wants the public to also recognize its capabilities when it comes to mass-tier smartphones. The company revealed that both products will soon become available for Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. It is unknown yet if the devices will have a North American release.

In terms of design, both models feature what the firm refers to as a "handsome glossy pebble identity" that is familiar with the K series. The two come with a 2.5D Arc glass panels that protect the display.

Other key elements include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor located just below the LED flash module. The company claims that both models perform well in dim environments, thanks to the Low Light Noise Reduction technology that works in tandem with its High Dynamic Range capabilities.

"LG's 2018 K Series range of smartphones is focused on delivering even more value to consumers looking for the right device that fits their lifestyle and needs," states Ha Jeung-uk, business unit leader and vice president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications.
