The free games that PlayStation Plus subscribers can download for the month of March 2018 have been revealed, with the notoriously difficult Bloodborne for the PlayStation 4 leading the way.

In addition to the March 2018 lineup, it was also announced that starting next year, PlayStation Plus membership will no longer offer free games for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

PlayStation Plus Free Games For March 2018

For the month of March, PlayStation 4 owners with PlayStation Plus subscriptions will be able to download award-winning action RPG Bloodborne and the Ratchet & Clank remake for free.

Bloodborne is similar to the Dark Souls games, made by the same developer FromSoftware. However, instead of a Medieval setting in the Dark Souls games, Bloodborne offers a Gothic horror environment, while also replacing the slower and more defensive combat system with a faster and riskier one.

Ratchet & Clank, meanwhile, is a remake for the original Ratchet & Clank that was released for the PlayStation 2. The game still features the arsenal of quirky weapons that the series is known for, as players help Ratchet and Clank save the Solana Galaxy.

The PlayStation Plus March 2018 lineup also includes action platformer Legend of Kay and troubled Mega Man spiritual successor Mighty No. 9 for the PlayStation 3, and pixel art horror title Claire: Extended Cut and Bomberman clone Bombing Busters for the PlayStation Vita. All these games, except for Legend of Kay, are cross buy titles with the PlayStation 4.

A Dungeon Defenders PS Plus Pack for Dungeon Defenders 2 will also be made available from March 13 to April 10. The pack will contain various perks for the tower defense game.

The refreshed lineup of PlayStation Plus free games will launch next week, so subscribers who have not yet downloaded the free games for February 2018 still have some time to do so.

No More Free PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita Games Next Year

Sony also announced that it will no longer offer PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games in the monthly PlayStation Plus free games lineup starting March 2019.

February 2019 will be the last month when a PlayStation Plus membership will offer six free games for download, two each for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. Afterward, PlayStation Plus subscribers will see the free downloads reduced to two PlayStation 4 games each month.

Sony, however, said that nothing else will change about PlayStation Plus memberships, including access to cloud-based storage for save files and online multiplayer modes for various titles.
