This year's Call of Duty title will most likely be Black Ops 4. Earlier this February rumors started swirling around that the company's next installment in the popular first-person shooter franchise is set to be a follow-up to 2015's Black Ops 3.

Now, more proof adds fuel to the already rampant speculation. Folks over at reputable Call of Duty blog CharlieINTEL posted on March 5 photos showing internal GameStop listings, which was sent over by a tipster.

In them, Black Ops 4 lanyards and T-shirts are clearly listed with their respective prices, scheduled to arrive in May. The lanyard costs $7 while the T-Shirt costs $20, which are pretty typical of video game-related merchandise.

Call Of Duty: Blacks Ops 4 Confirmed?

So, that seems to confirm it. GameStop will probably begin selling promotional items for Black Ops 4 in May as the listings suggests, but whether that indicates the game's release date remains unclear. That's pretty unlikely, though.

Plus, these days anything can be faked, and there's a great possibility that these images were doctored. Still, they come at a time of rabid hype over the next Call of Duty game being Black Ops 4, which were slightly substantiated by Activision itself during the company's Q4 earnings call.

Treyarch Is Developing

Call of Duty fans aren't entirely left alone in the dark, however. So far, the publisher has confirmed that Treyarch is developing this year's entry. Treyarch developed all the Black Ops titles, plus Call of Duty: World at War. Presumably, the merch is going to complement the actual video game. But again, everything up to this point is mere speculation and rumor, and they should be taken with a grain of salt.

If Black Ops 4 is indeed a go, not only will it be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, it might also get a Nintendo Switch port. Marcus Sellars, a known industry insider, believes so. He's been right about several things, like the Dark Souls port for the Switch, Nintendo Labo, and the January Nintendo direct. It wouldn't come as a total surprise if he's right on the money once again. The last time a Call of Duty game was released for a Nintendo system was back in 2013 with Call of Duty: Ghosts making its way to the now-defunct Wii U.
