The next Nintendo Direct presentation will start on the afternoon of March 8, and Nintendo Switch fans are hoping that two of the most popular Nintendo franchises will finally be announced for the hybrid console.

The last Nintendo Direct, held in January, was considered a "mini" version because it skipped many major questions on the immediate future of the Nintendo Switch. Will the upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation provide all the answers?

Nintendo Direct March 2018: What Games Will Be There?

The next Nintendo Direct will start on March 8, at 5 p.m. ET. The 30-minute presentation, which will be streamed on the official Nintendo website, will focus on Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch games that are launching this year.

The one game that will surely be featured at the upcoming Nintendo Direct is Mario Tennis Aces, which was previewed at the Nintendo Direct Mini in January. All the other games that will be part of the presentation, however, are unknown.

Yoshi, which has previously been announced to be launching this year for the Nintendo Switch, will likely be part of Nintendo Direct, with more details for the game to be revealed. The same is true for the upcoming Fire Emblem game for the hybrid console. In addition, Nintendo may release more details about the Nintendo Labo cardboard accessories.

What Nintendo Switch gamers are hoping for, however, is that Nintendo will finally announce Super Smash Bros. and Pokémon for the hybrid console. These are two of Nintendo's biggest franchises, and players are increasingly becoming restless while waiting for the arrival of their Nintendo Switch versions.

Meanwhile, for the Nintendo 3DS, the presentation will most likely feature Detective Pikachu at some point. However, most of the attention will be on what is on deck for the Nintendo Switch.

Don't Expect These Games In Nintendo Direct March 2018

The upcoming Nintendo Direct will focus on the games that are launching this year, so two major titles will likely not be part of the presentation.

The first is Metroid Prime 4, which is expected to not launch until 2019 at the earliest. It was recently revealed that Bandai Namco will be the developer for the game, which is a surprising choice for Nintendo, to say the least.

The second is Bayonetta 3, which is expected to be released in 2019 to follow the five-year gaps between the entries in the fast-paced, over-the-top action series.

It has also been recently confirmed that Diablo III is coming to the Nintendo Switch, but according to sources, the official reveal is still several months away.
