A black man as James Bond? Who would have thought such a thing would ever happen? Well, it could, as the head of Sony is very much interested in casting Idris Elba the MI6 Agent when Daniel Craig contract is up.

This isn't the first time we've heard about the possibility of Elba becoming Bond, but this new piece of information has come from the horse's mouth, so fans of the franchise brace themselves for a possible announcement in the years to come.

We don't know much about Elba, but we do know that he's a top actor in England and that he plays the role of Heimdall in Marvel's Thor movies. From what we have seen from the actor, we can't say for certain if he is perfect for the role, but the head of Sony seems to believe he is more than capable.

Furthermore, even Jamie Foxx is standing behind Elba for the James Bond role, so who knows what could happen.

In the past, Idris Elba was asked if he would be interested in playing Bond, and his response was a resounding yes. We're sure he would bring something new to the character, but whether or not fans of the franchise would accept him is something else entirely.

So far, we know Daniel Craig want to escape from the clutches of the Bond character, so there's a possibility Spectre might turn out to be his final film in the Bond universe. This could pave the way for Elba to bring his own bit of uniqueness to the character.

"I've been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it," says Craig. "But they won't let me go, and I've agreed to do a couple more, but let's see how this one does, because business to business and if the s**t goes down, I've got a contract that somebody will happily wipe their a** with."

After reading how Daniel Craig feels, we are almost sure he won't make an appearance in a 5th Bond movie. This is it, his last hurrah, and we should now look forward to witnessing the first black James Bond in the years to come.
