Marvel rolled out a new trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp, the next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the record-setting, heartbreaking Avengers: Infinity War.

It was initially unclear why Ant-Man and the Wasp will follow Avengers: Infinity War, but things are getting clearer now on how the two movies are connected.

New 'Ant-Man And The Wasp' Trailer Released

With the shocking ending of Avengers: Infinity War still lingering in the minds of Marvel fans, the new Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer looks to inject a bit another dose of humor into the franchise.

The new trailer provides more glimpses of the Wasp, played by Evangeline Lilly, in action, showing that she may even make for a better Avenger than Ant-Man, played by Paul Rudd. There are also a few shots of Ghost, played by Hannah John-Kamen, who appears to be the main villain of the upcoming movie.

The end of the trailer also reveals Bill Foster, the character of Laurence Fishburne, who used to be Goliath.

'Ant-Man And The Wasp' And 'Avengers: Infinity War' Connection

In one of the scenes in the trailer, Luis, the character of Michael Peña, told Dr. Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, that he has heard about how they have opened the quantum realm. However, that was how Ghost was able to enter their reality and steal their technology.

The quantum realm was expected to be a major plot point in Ant-Man and the Wasp, as Dr. Pym, the original Ant-Man, continues his search for his wife and the original Wasp, Janet van Dyne, played by Michelle Pfeiffer.

One of the most interesting scenes in the trailer happened in a blink of an eye. Ant-Man, presumably in the quantum realm, sees something fly by him. Was that Van Dyne, and if so, will she still be the same after spending all those years in the mystical space?

Given the magnitude of the responsibility of following Avengers: Infinity War, the plot of Ant-Man and the Wasp will likely be connected to the events that transpired involving Thanos.

The events in Ant-Man and the Wasp are believed to be happening before or simultaneously with the events in Avengers: Infinity War. This means that the quantum realm will play some role in defeating Thanos and perhaps also in reversing the damage that he did with the Infinity Stones.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will hit theaters on July 6, followed by Captain Marvel on March 6 next year and then Avengers 4 on May 3.
