When it comes to services, more choices are often more favorable. Visible, a new wireless carrier on Verizon's network, offers a $40 all-inclusive service monthly.

What Does It Offer?

According to reports from sources in the industry, Verizon covertly launched the new startup earlier this year. The $40 monthly service being advertised reportedly includes features such as unlimited messaging, minutes, and data.

"This is something that's been the seed of an idea for a year or so," explains Minjae Ormes, the company's marketing head. "There's a core group of people from the strategy side. There's a core group of five or ten people who came up with the idea," she added.

The carrier is one of the many mobile virtual network operators that will rely on the bigger network's established wireless infrastructure for coverage. This is a common practice used by smaller third-party operators such as Straight Talk, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Cricket Wireless and more.

Limited Availability Until Further Notice

A quick look at what the plans offer noticeably makes it an attractive option for most consumers. However, its official website explains that the service is currently in its testing phase and seems to be limited to iOS devices only for the moment.

Interested subscribers can sign up via the company's webpage and check if they qualify and receive an invite.

Sign-Up Process And Service

For the individuals who received an invitation, there are a couple of things to verify before sign-up. Users should check and verify that their device is compatible. A report from Phonedog listed all of the supported iPhone models and confirmed that the oldest one compatible be the iPhone 6.

Once ready, subscribers must download the Visible app and complete the registration. The company will ship a SIM card the following day that will give the user access to Verizon's 4G LTE network with all of the advertised monthly features in tow without being throttled, as advertised by the company.

There seems to be a small caveat that ideally should not be a big problem for subscribers. Even though the service relies on Verizon's wireless infrastructure, which is capable of speeds of up to 20 Mbps, the company reveals that the unlimited internet feature will be limited to 5 Mbps without throttling.

Furthermore, subscribers are not locked-in by a contract like regular networks and can make payments via Paypal or Venmo.

Company-Owned Startup

Currently, there are only a few details available about Visible, which most sources speculate to be owned by Verizon. Reports pointed out that most of the company's leadership is made up of ex-employees. Tech Crunch notes that its current CEO is Miguel Quiroga, the former head of Digital and VP of Verizon.
