The BlackBerry Key2 is about to make its official debut on June 7, and the company is boosting the hype with an intriguing teaser video.

BlackBerry was once at the top of the smartphone chain, but it lost ground to rivals such as Samsung, Apple, and others, and it's been struggling for years to return to glory.

It's made several efforts, including releasing smartphones without its iconic QWERTY keyboard, and it even switched over to Google's Android mobile operating system, but it still failed to relieve the resounding success it once had.

Nevertheless, BlackBerry is still trying to find that sweet spot that will appeal to customers once again, and it's now preparing to launch another Android headset. BlackBerry calls it an "icon reborn."

BlackBerry Key2 Teaser

The upcoming BlackBerry Key2 is the company's upcoming business-focused smartphone, successor to the BlackBerry KEYone from last year. The new teaser from BlackBerry now shows a dual rear camera setup with dual LED flash, a physical QWERTY keyboard, BlackBerry Hub with messenger apps support, a new app drawer shortcut, and the Privacy Shade feature preinstalled.

With dual cameras in the cards, the BlackBerry Key2 is expected to capture better photos than the KEYone, which could be a great improvement for photography enthusiasts.

BlackBerry Key 2 Mystery Button

The short teaser video doesn't reveal too much, but it does show a mysterious button right next to the symbol key, and it remains unclear at this point just what purpose that button may serve.

BlackBerry's phone business is now under TCL's umbrella, and the company is staying mum about the purpose of that intriguing button. When asked, TCL simply said to check the official unveiling on June 7.

BlackBerry Key2 Rumored Specs

The specs of the upcoming BlackBerry Key2 are also more or less a mystery, with little to go on although it was spotted on TENAA. Rumors indicate that the smartphone could feature a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,620 x 1,080 pixels, 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage space, microSD card support for additional storage of up to 128 GB, a 3,360 mAh battery, and Android 8.1 Oreo on board out of the box.

None of these specs are confirmed, however, and there's no mention of what processor the handset might pack. With the official unveiling scheduled for June 7, however, we'll soon learn all there is to learn straight from the source.
