Apple won't announce new MacBook and iPad Pro models at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference, according to Bloomberg, but that doesn't mean they won't get their due updates eventually.

The publication has published a roundup of what to expect during next week's WWDC, claiming no refreshed MacBooks and iPad Pros are slated to appear at the event.

At the WWDC in 2017, Apple unveiled refreshed MacBook and MacBook Pro models and also introduced the 10.5-inch iPad Pro along with the second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Bloomberg expects Apple to save this year's revisions for much later.

MacBook, MacBook Pro, iPad Pro

The Cupertino company is supposedly working on several refreshes right now, such as new 12-inch MacBook and MacBook Pro models packed with the latest chips from Intel. It's also planning to release a low-cost laptop that'll serve as the official successor to the MacBook Air, plus an iPad Pro with Face ID, Bloomberg claims.

Apple Watch

Apple is also working on a couple of new Apple Watch devices that keep the overall size of the current models but include slightly larger edge-to-edge displays. Despite the redesigned form factor, they'll still be compatible with previous bands, says the report. It's not clear whether these will debut at the WWDC, but hardware is likely not on the table during the whole conference, 9to5Mac notes.

iOS 12 And Other Software Updates

If so, Apple might focus instead on software features in the upcoming iOS 12, which rumors say will give iPhones the ability to unlock doors using NFC, among other things. The updated operating system might also get a new Digital Health initiative, a bunch of notification management options, ARKit 2.0 with multiplayer features, and cross-platform apps with macOS.

It's been reported previously that Apple is working on the ability to run iOS apps on Macs. Bloomberg claims executives could discuss such plans as early as this year. If implemented, cross-platform apps might help solve Mac's app ecosystem problems, and it would also be interesting to see how well iOS apps run on traditional laptops and desktops.

The 2018 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference happens from June 4 to 8 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California. What do you expect Apple to announce during the keynote?
