The Oppo Find X made its official debut at a special event on Tuesday, June 19, in Paris, but that sleek design and high-end specs won't come cheap.

Oppo Find X Sports Gorgeous, Unified Design

While an increasing number of smartphones feature display notches to house the front camera and sensors, the Oppo Find X does away with the unsightly notch and comes up with a motorized camera tray.

The Oppo Find X offers a gorgeous, streamlined design with incredibly thin bezels, a whopping 93.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, and no visible cameras when the special tray is hidden.

"OPPO has always pursued perfection," says the company. "With no holes visible on the screen and the unified design, OPPO Find X offers exceptional smooth handling and exudes pure beauty. Any time or place, the OPPO Find X will be the center of attention."

Oppo Find X Price

Toward the end of the luxurious launch event in Paris, which was also live streamed on YouTube, Oppo announced that its new flagship smartphone will come with a steep price tag of €999, which would translate to roughly $1,115 based on current conversion rates.

The price is for the 256 GB model of the smartphone, which at this point, seems to be the only version. It remains unclear whether Oppo will also offer a lower-capacity model at a more affordable price point, but for now, it only announced the 256 GB configuration.

Nevertheless, it's worthy to note that the Oppo Find X will be the company's very first smartphone to go on sale in North America and Europe. So far, Oppo smartphones have been available only in the company's home country of China, as well as Philippines, India, and a handful of other Asian markets.

Packed with high-end specs, a gorgeous design with an edge-to-edge display, and with wider global availability, the Oppo Find X seems poised to compete at the high end of the smartphone market, going up against flagships from Samsung, Apple, and others.

Oppo Find X Specs

The new Oppo Find X has a large 6.4-inch display and packs a top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood, paired with 8 GB of RAM. Oppo promises "extremely high performance" and also touts a "game acceleration mode," which makes optimizations to ensure smooth and speedy gaming sessions.

As previously mentioned, the smartphone also comes with a generous 256 GB of internal storage space, which should allow for efficient data processing and plenty of room to store various apps, photos, videos, music, and more.

Other specs include an AI-enhanced dual-lens rear camera module with 20-megapixel + 16-megapixel cameras, optical image stabilization, and dual-LED dual-tone flash, and a 25-megapixel front-facing shooter with advanced features and AI-enhanced 3D Camera perks.

All three cameras are located on a pop-up tray that stays out of sight when not in use, allowing for a notchless design. Keeping things up and running is a 3,730 mAh battery with VOOC flash charge. The smartphone comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

The Oppo Find X is slated to start shipping in August, but it's unclear for now whether that launch timeframe is for the United States, Europe, or both. More details should become available closer to launch. In the meantime, you can watch the launch event in the video below.
