Since Microsoft first introduced the original Xbox console in 2001, video game aficionados continue to flock to the company for its high-quality games.

Two Keyboards For Xbox?

Microsoft's Xbox One is back in the news after a rumored development between the software company and gaming manufacturer Razer Inc. Windows Central revealed earlier this year that Microsoft met with developers and announced a potential project that would intrigue Xbox One users. This possible project revolved around a keyboard and a mouse that is exclusive for the video game console.

Two keyboard designs were currently in development. The Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 comes with a bright and colorful keyboard design. The tinted keyboard is programmed with 16.8 million color options. It is also expected that the lighting would also help give gamers hints when they play games such as Dota 2 and Overwatch.

The other keyboard design that was shown at the developers meeting was the Razer Turret. While it is not as colorful as the BlackWidow Chroma V2, the Razer Turret does have a feature that would benefit gamers' eye-hand coordination. The number pad was removed, and in its place, they will be able to see a cushion for a mouse. Also, the keyboard could be easily played from gamers' laps.

Potential Computer Mice

The two technology companies are also working on a computer mouse that would correspond with the keyboard duo. This mouse allegedly comes equipped with various support such as horizontal and perpendicular wheel movement. It would also allow developers to design their cursor glyphs as well. Also, Microsoft revealed during this presentation that all USB mice would be able to interact with both new keyboards and the Xbox Ones.

The technology company also added that it would allow developers to detect if players are using a keyboard or mouse on the Xbox One. Microsoft also advised them that if they recognized players using the two items, their games should connect with similar players. While reports indicated that the keyboards and mice would be available this fall, Microsoft has denied that these are finalized plans.

"We are always exploring new ways to improve the Xbox experience, but have nothing to share at this time," said a Microsoft spokesperson to Tech Times.

Xbox News

Last week, video game insider Gamesindustry.biz released a revealing interview with Mike Nichols, Microsoft's chief marketing officer for its gaming division. He noted that virtual or mixed reality video games would not appear in future Xbox games. Nichols added that Microsoft would focus on bringing VR and MR games to PCs.

Square Enix announced that the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts III would be released on Jan. 29, 2019. Xbox One players will have the opportunity to reunite with Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy as they face off against the Heartless in several new worlds. The trio is expected to meet characters from several significant Disney movies including Frozen, Tangled, Toy Story, and Wreck-It Ralph.
