A 3-year-old girl serves as the flower girl in the wedding of the woman who saved her life.

The bride donated her bone marrow to the little girl who was suffering from a rare form of cancer.

Skye's Incredible Journey

In March 2016, Skye Savren-McCormick was diagnosed with lymphoma and juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia, a rare type of cancer that only affects one in 1 million children.

In July 2016, Skye was matched with 26-year-old Hayden Ryals as a bone marrow donor. Hayden has since stayed in contact with Skye and her family following the toddler's procedure.

Doctors didn't expect Skye to live following her cancer diagnosis and informed her family that Skye only had a 10 percent chance of survival. She required daily blood and platelet transfusions and also underwent three bone-marrow transplants, surgery to remove her spleen that was oversized, and several rounds of chemotherapy for cancer.

During her 10-month stay at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, Skye had to receive 77 units of blood and platelets. Doctors now say that Skye is doing miraculously well.

On Skye's 3rd birthday in March 2018, Hayden sent Skye and her family a wedding invitation and also asked the 3-year-old to be her flower girl.

The Bride And The Flower Girl

Skye's parents, Talia and Todd Savren-McCormick, were initially concerned to travel their daughter from their home in Ventura, California to Alabama. However, the doctors gave them permission and the family was excited to be to a part of Hayden's big day.

"It was very humbling and surreal. Everyone knew who she was because the town is so small. It was amazing. I never imagined that we would be here. I was just so proud of [Skye] after how much she's been through and how far she's come. The fact that we were able to do this was just amazing," Talia stated.

Talia continued that Skye and Hayden have a special bond and are smitten with each other. During the wedding, Hayden held Skye and the two held onto each other. Talia stated that she is excited now for Skye's future and looks forward to the blossoming friendship between Hayden and Skye and where it will go.

Skye wore a cream-colored dress with a blue ribbon as she walked down the aisle and performed her flower girl duties. Skye also posed with the bridal party. Skye's parents stated that entire event was moving and heartwarming.
