The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has been starring in a slew of leaks recently, and the latest one is a benchmark listing that offers clues regarding its specs.

Samsung's current Galaxy Note 8 is an impressive powerhouse, but its successor is expected to be even more so. As anticipation is building up, leaks and rumors are trying to paint a picture of what to expect.

The latest leak now comes from a benchmark listing spotted in the database of Geekbench, a popular benchmarking tool that usually offers accurate information about upcoming devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 On Geekbench

The benchmark listing in question is for a Samsung device with model number SM-N960, which doesn't correspond to any existing smartphone in the OEM's lineup.

This device is believed to be none other than the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and the version spotted on Geekbench is likely the international version of the smartphone.

Galaxy Note 9 Processor

Samsung typically launches its flagships with two processing options that vary depending on the market. The new benchmark, dated July 3, lists the upcoming Samsung device with an Exynos 9810 processor, which would fall in line with the company's strategy of launching international versions of flagships with in-house Exynos processors, while the U.S.-bound models feature Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs.

In fact, Snapdragon processors power Samsung flagships in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and China, while the rest of the world gets Exynos processors. That said, the SM-N960 spotted on Geekbench seems bound for the international market. The difference between Exynos and Snapdragon processors in the Galaxy Note 9 will likely not be noticeable with everyday use

Based on the benchmark listing, the Galaxy Note 9's octa-core Exynos processor is clocked at a base frequency of 1.79 GHz, which is the same as for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

Galaxy Note 9 RAM

Geekbench further lists the upcoming device with 6 GB of RAM, which is not that surprising. On the other hand, recent rumors have indicated that Samsung is also working on two configurations with 8 GB of RAM.

One of those configurations is expected to be paired with 256 GB of native storage space, while the other should come with a massive 512 GB of internal storage. However, these 8 GB of RAM models will likely hit only Samsung's home market of South Korea, and maybe China.

Lastly, the benchmark listing shows the device with Android 8.1 Oreo on board, a single-core performance of 3,716, and a multi-core performance of 8,984.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will make its official debut next month, on Aug. 9, and should go on sale a few weeks after.
