Did Samsung just accidentally leak its upcoming smartwatch? That seems to be exactly what just happened. Eagle-eyed users caught the Galaxy Watch on the company's U.S. retail website, though it has since been removed as of writing.

The new leak gives further credence to previous rumors suggesting that Samsung will retire the Gear naming scheme in favor of the new Galaxy Watch brand.

Galaxy Watch Leaked

CNET's Scott Stein was the first to report about the leak. No further information was revealed, such as a release date or price tag, so there's not much to go on from the leak. Chances are the new Galaxy Watch models will continue running on Samsung's proprietary Tizen operating system, and not Android Wear as many rumors claim.

Samsung Bixby On Galaxy Watch

Bixby voice command integration is also very likely given Samsung's bullish attitude when it comes to pushing for the digital assistant. At the very least, the leak reveals the watch's model number to be SM-R810, which matches up with the previously reported model number for the Wi-Fi variant. An LTE model has also been filed, though it didn't show up in the leak.

The spotted watch was a 42 mm rose gold model, which bears similarities to the Gear smartwatch lineup in terms of design. Two buttons on the side are almost identical to the buttons found on the Gear S2. As for the bands, it seems Samsung isn't going to change its silicone bands that much. They still feature the horizontal lines, which are grooves that provide users some extra grip when working out.

The watch face looks nothing special, though it does feature a tiny sub-dial. The bezel seems to have grooves on the side and recessed surfaces on top, so it seems Samsung is merging design elements from both the Gear S3, which is more rugged, and the Gear S2, which is more sleek and stylish.

Samsung Unpacked Event

More information about the Galaxy Watch models will surface soon, perhaps during the upcoming Unpacked conference on Aug. 9, as rumors suggest. But the main event will be the Galaxy Note 9 unveiling, of course.
