Battlefield V connoisseurs will have to wait longer than expected to get their hands on the action-packed battle royale game.

This after Electronic Arts decided to move the release date of Battlefield V from Oct. 19 to Nov. 20, citing that DICE is making final adjustments to the core gameplay and multiplayer beta. The multiplayer beta will kick off on Sept. 6

"We're going to take the time to continue to make some final adjustments to core gameplay and to ensure we really deliver on the potential of [new Battlefield live service] Tides of War. We know moving the launch date means that we all have to wait a little longer. But we're going to take our time to make sure we get it right," said DICE General Manager Oskar Gabrielson.

Gabrielson added that they have already made some significant signs of progress to the core experience such as enhancing soldier visibility, calibrating the gameplay tempo, and scaling down player friction. Rumors have also circulated that preorders for Battlefield V have been weak.

EA Has Finally Learned Its Lesson

Interestingly, Red Dead Redemption 2, which is the game seemingly every developer is trying to ward off on the calendar, is scheduled to be out on Oct. 26, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on Oct. 12. Engadget noted that the delay could be fruitful for Battlefield V while mentioning that EA has finally learned its lesson from the Mass Effect Andromeda disaster and Battlefield 4.

It can be brought to mind that EA decided to end Mass Effect 3 in 2011, thus exasperating its fans. In addition, EA was likewise named as the "Worst Company in America" in a poll conducted by The Consumerist.

The postponement will also mean that Battlefield V will now be released after other big titles such as Fallout 76 and Hitman 2. The World War II shooter game will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Earlier this month, Battlefield V released a trailer known as the "Devastation of Rotterdam," which portrayed the historic Luftwaffe bombing in Rotterdam during the war in 1940. The upcoming release of Battlefield V will likewise feature a battle royale mode. Battle royale has become widely popular, with Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Background steering it.

Before releasing the "Devastation of Rotterdam" trailer, the last trailer produced by EA for Battlefield V during the Xbox keynote ceremony showed the War Story campaign mode. The upcoming game is the sixth edition of the Battlefield series.
