Since the notorious hack on Sony Pictures Entertainment and the plethora of leaked documents that followed, we've been getting some juicy details. One in particular is Sony Pictures' interest in having Idris Elba, a black British actor, as the next James Bond after Daniel Craig.

Elba took the time out to address the situation on Twitter, and from all indications, he is quite into the idea, as if we didn't know that before. Still, anything can change until the time comes for a new James Bond to appear, so Elba should be praying to the heavens right now if he really wants the part.

As expected, things didn't turn out without some questionable comments regarding the matter.

Radio personality, Rush Limbaugh, is not in the slightest of ways happy about the possible decision of choosing Idris Elba as the next James Bond, and that caused him to lash out.

"James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming. He was white and Scottish. Period. That is who James Bond is," Limbaugh said.

"But now [they are] suggesting that the next James Bond should be Idris Elba, a black Briton, rather than a white from Scotland. But that's not who James Bond is."

During a recent NPR interview with Idris Elba, the actor answered a question asking if he would take the role should it be given to him. Elba's answer was yes, but he also pointed out that he doesn't want to be known as the black James Bond, but for many reasons, we doubt his prayers will ever be answered.

"I just don't want to be [called] the [first] black James Bond. Do you understand what I'm saying? Sean Connery wasn't the Scottish James Bond and Daniel Craig wasn't the blue-eyed James Bond," according to Elba. "So if I played him, I don't want to be called the black James Bond."

We'd love to see Idris Elba as Bond, but he would have to make a killing of the role because as a black man, he would be put to the dogs should he fail to perform in ways critics and fans alike require. Furthermore, even if he does a great job, there will still be others who might downplay his performance due to the color of his skin.
