Les Moonves being out of CBS after facing allegations of sexual abuse has left Julie Chen in an awkward position.

Sixty-eight year old Moonves, the former CEO of the big network has already left his post and Joseph Ianniello, the network's Chief Operating Officer is now acting as its President and CEO while the board finds a permanent person to take the position.

Chen's Side

Chen, who hosts Big Brother and The Talk on the network has announced that she will take a break.

"I am taking a few days off from The Talk to be with my family," said the host in a statement.

The 48-year-old host stated that she will be back on the show soon and will be in Big Brother on Thursday night. Season 9 of The Talk premiered without the host. Despite her absence, the show did not hire a guest host to replace Chen on the episode.

Furthermore, Sharon Osbourne talked about the issue on the hit show. The hosts also expressed their opinions about the news. Sheryl Underwood stated that Chen is very tough and resilient and women should not feel as if it is their duty to carry secrets and problems.

According to Osbourne, Chen has been with her through hard times over the last eight years, and she feels that it is very upsetting to talk about Moonves. However, they feel that it is right. She also added that she knew the former CEO in a superficial way and only knew about him as the head of the network and Chen's other half.

Allegations Against Moonves

"But I think this is a blessing from god to be unburdened from secrets and unchained from lies and that now is the time for everyone to look inside themselves and become better people and treat people the way they should be treated," Underwood weighed in.

Chen and Moonves have been married for 14 years and is considered as one of the most influencial couples in the industry. The two married in 2004, after Mooves' divorced was finalized. However, their relationship has faced a challenge because of allegations regarding Moonves' sexual misconduct.

Additionally, Chen called for support for her husband in July saying that he was a loving father, a great man, and an inspiring leader.

The host had been working for CBS for numerous years before she met its former CEO. In fact, she was serving as a news reader for The Early Show when her now-husband considered her to host Big Brother.
