From celebrities to athletes to politicians, there are many people in this world that Americans can look up to. However, for the last 13 years, one woman has been the most admired among her fellow countrymen and women.

That's none other than Hillary Clinton, who once again tops Gallup's poll of the most admired living people among Americans. This is the 13th time in a row that Clinton has topped the list, which she has dominated for 17 out of the past 18 years from her time as first lady to U.S. senator to secretary of state. It certainly won't hurt to have this kind of cred if Clinton does eventually decide to run for president in 2016.

From Dec. 8 to Dec. 11, Gallup polled Americans using this question: "What [woman/man] that you have heard or read about, living today in any part of the world, do you admire most? And who is your second choice?" Clinton was mentioned 12 percent of the time, followed by Oprah Winfrey at 8 percent and one of this year's Nobel Peace Prize winners Malala Yousafzai at 5 percent.

As for the men, President Barack Obama tops the list with 19 percent of the mentions, a spot he has held for the past seven years. Fun fact from Gallup: The incumbent president almost always wins this distinction, coming in first in 56 out of the 68 years the poll has been conducted. Following President Obama on this list are Pope Francis with 6 percent of the mentions and Bill Clinton with 3 percent.

Surprisingly, Vladimir Putin also made it to the list, rounding out the top 11 with 1 percent of the mentions. He also technically tied with Ben Carson, Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates, Bill O'Reilly and Benjamin Netanyahu. An interesting list, wouldn't you say?
