Samsung's top-of-the-line 5G Galaxy S10 Plus model will be a Verizon exclusive for the first few months, according to an unnamed source and leaked software.

If it turns out to be true, then subscribers of Big Red will have the edge on other Samsung fans on other carriers for some time in terms of mobile connectivity, and it won't be in the way that AT&T customers are experiencing "5G."

Verizon's 5G Galaxy S10

A Galaxy S10 variant with 5G support has been rumored to be in the pipeline since September. While it was initially believed to launch at the same time across all major carriers, a new circulating rumor says that might not be the case at all.

Max Weinbach of XDA-Developers says that it will be a Verizon exclusive at first. Apparently, the carrier won a bidding war and got the rights to release it first. It's unclear how long this exclusivity will last.

Weinbach then says that his claim was confirmed with a source and software, explaining that the phone in question only has Verizon files.

Galaxy S10 'Unpacking' Date

Samsung is expected to take the wraps off the Galaxy S10 lineup on Feb. 20 at its Unpacked Event in San Francisco. However, rumors say that the 5G model won't make an appearance there but show up at a later date sometime during the second quarter.

As for its specs, rumors say that the 5G Galaxy S10 Plus will come with 1 TB of storage and 12 GB of RAM. It's said to sport a curved AMOLED screen that measures at 6.7 inches and a Snapdragon 855 for the U.S. variant or an Exynos 9820 for the international variants.

It'll run on Android 9 Pie with a One UI skin out of the box, and it could have a whopping 5,000 mAh battery to keep the lights on. What's more, it could have a four-camera setup on the rear, two snappers on the front, and a headphone jack, which are all corroborated by an alleged Galaxy S10 Plus case.
