Samsung didn't use a notch on its new Galaxy S10 lineup, opting for a hole-punch or a pill-shaped cutout for the Plus variant in the top-right corner of its Infinity-O Display instead.

For those who like everything else about the phone except for how its front-facing camera looks, there's good news: It can be hidden in more ways than one.

Adding 'Bezels'

As CNET points out, there's an option to add a "black bar to the top of the screen" to hide the hole-punch camera.

Just head on over to Settings > Display > Full screen apps and toggle "Hide front camera" to on. After doing so, the screen should flash as the interface arranges the items on it to accommodate the black bar.

Galaxy S10 Wallpapers

While some users are likely looking to "get rid of" it, others are choosing a more creative solution in the form of wallpapers that blend with the hole-punch cutout.

They're free, and there's a growing collection over at Reddit, which has its own subreddit dedicated to these works of art called /r/S10wallpapers.

These wallpapers range from popular media such as Wall-E, Bender from Futurama, Cyclops from X-Men, the Death Star from Star Wars, and Homer Simpson from The Simpsons to things like a solar eclipse, Curiosity, and "the supreme leader."

The Front Cameras

For comparison's sake, the Galaxy S10e and standard Galaxy S10 have a 10-megapixel sensor, meaning they have only one O-shaped camera.

In contrast, the Galaxy S10 Plus and Galaxy S10 5G are both working with two sensors. The former has 10- and 8-megapixel cameras, while the latter has a 10-megapixel camera coupled with a Time of Flight or ToF sensor. In other words, both of them have a pill-shaped cutout.

The takeaway here is that the front camera cutout of the Galaxy S10 models isn't anything to worry about when deciding whether to get one or not. It can be hidden via the Settings app or with wallpapers, after all. If nothing else, the inventive wallpapers are one more reason to buy the handset.
