The first beta for Android Q may roll out on March 13.

Initially, it was believed to launch on March 11, but needless to say, that didn't pan out.

Android Q Beta Release Date

As reported by Android Police, a Reddit user posted a link to a screenshot that reveals a March 13 release date for the Android Q beta. Allegedly, it's from a Google developer calendar, but there's no way of knowing for sure.

However, lending credibility to the speculation, Google has historically launched betas and developer previews on a Wednesday — March 13 is on a Wednesday, in case it wasn't obvious.

This whole thing didn't start from an obscure Reddit comment, though. XDA-Developer's editor-in-chief Mishaal Rahman first spotted that the bug tracker for the Android Q beta has already gone live.

According to Android Police, clicking on the link Rahman provided will direct users to an Issue Tracker search with its results filtered by date starting from March 11, which would show only reports from the public. This is basically the basis of the speculated March 11 release date of the beta.

Again, that didn't turn out to be as everyone had hoped. Instead, March 13 could be the ticket, but that's just going by the aforementioned Reddit comment.

Lots Of Devices Will Support Android Q Beta

As XDA-Developers points out, Iliyan Malchev, an Android developer at Google, said that the Mountain View company intends to work with more original equipment manufacturers or OEMs for Android Q beta, during an episode of the Android Developers Backstage podcast. That way, the software will make its way to more devices compared to when the beta for Android Pie was launched.

"The number is bigger for the upcoming Android release, which I am very happy about. I cannot share the exact numbers yet. But the trend is positive and strong, and I am very happy about this," he said.

To boil things down, the first beta launch for Android Q could start rolling out on March 13, and in the foreseeable future, it could land on a lot of devices.
