A Pixel 4 XL leak shows that Google could be adding more cameras to at least one of its next smartphones.

Pixel handsets have typically had only one rear camera, but it looks like there's a chance that's going to change soon.

Alleged Pixel 4 XL Design Leak

As spotted by CNET, a photo that's purported to be of the Pixel 4 XL was uploaded to the website SlashLeaks.

From what can be gathered, the next Pixel smartphone will have a hole-punch cutout that comprises two lenses. It's similar to the pill-like shape that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has, which could be fun to hide. On an interesting note, the Pixel 3 doesn't have a notch, while the Pixel 3 XL has a huge one (pictured above).

Now on the back, it could have two cameras. Nowadays, it's common for flagship devices to have two, three, or even five cameras on the rear. As mentioned earlier, Google usually equipped its handsets with just one lens for its main camera, turning to software to gain the edge in the competition. It seems it's changing things up with the Pixel 4 XL.

One more thing worth noting is that there's no fingerprint scanner on the rear. This could mean that the reader will be on the side underneath the power button, but that likely won't be the case. What's more likely is an under-display fingerprint sensor, just like what the Galaxy S10 has.

Still, at the end of the day, these design points should be taken with a grain of salt until anything official surfaces.

Foldable Pixel

In other Pixel-related news, Google is rumored to be working on a phone with a foldable screen, which Android Q has native support for.

It appears that the Mountain View company is following in the footsteps of Samsung and its Galaxy Fold and Huawei and its Mate X, which stole the spotlight at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show. Others joining the foldable phone race include Motorola and Honor, who's aiming for a 2020 rollout.

Not everyone's convinced, though. OnePlus isn't jumping on the bandwagon because of concerns over price, and LG doesn't have plans yet, embracing dual screens with its LG V50 ThinQ 5G instead.
