The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is reportedly going to be available from Verizon, which has exclusive rights to the phone for the first few months, starting on May 16.

This comes hot on the heels of the South Korean brand announcing its rollout in its home country on April 5.

US Galaxy S10 5G

According to a report from Bloomberg, the Big Red is getting ready to launch the Galaxy S10 5G, which will become the first 5G-capable smartphone in the U.S. market. The carrier is said to start taking preorders as early as April 18.

Before this development, notable leakster Evan Blass already hinted at a May 16 release date for the Galaxy S10 5G in a tweet. In other words, at least two reliable sources are agreeing on the said launch date.

Availability through other carriers such as AT&T are expected sometime this year.

In the Galaxy S10 lineup, the 5G variant is the biggest out of them all, sporting a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ curved dynamic AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It's powered by an octa-core processor and 8 GB of RAM and provides 256 GB of internal storage. Battery is 4,500 mAh, which should keep the lights on for a long time.

It's also coming in with four cameras on the back — 12-megapixel telephoto, 12-megapixel wide-angle, 16-megapixel ultra-wide, time-of-flight camera — and a 10-megapixel front snapper coupled with a ToF camera.

It's unclear how much it's going to cost, but if its South Korean pricing is anything to go by, it could be available for $1,231, a rough estimate based on its 1.39 million won price tag.

Verizon's 5G

Initially, the carrier's 5G network was expected to go live on April 11 in Chicago and Minneapolis, but it activated it earlier in certain parts of the two cities. It's aiming to provide 5G connectivity to more than 30 cities by the end of 2019.
