Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, and Galaxy Note 8 owners on Sprint are facing some cellular connection issues.

While a solution for the Galaxy S10 is well underway, the carrier has just begun looking into a fix for the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, and Galaxy Note 8.

Sprint Galaxy S10 Issues

According to the reports, the problem spans across the Galaxy S10 lineup, from the standard version to the Galaxy S10e and the Galaxy S10 Plus. Users say that they have been losing connection entirely or voice services. Others say they keep getting moved to roaming networks.

Sprint released an update to address the issue with the software version ASC8 on March 27. However, if connectivity loss persists despite the update, then the device is in "permanent Voice/Data loss," as the carrier puts it, and it has to be exchanged for a new unit.

The problem isn't exclusive to Sprint, as Android Police reports. AT&T and T-Mobile users are also running into cellular problems on their Galaxy S10 Plus.

Another issue Galaxy S10 users have encountered before involves the Tap to Wake feature, where the phone would activate by itself in their pockets and, as a result, drain battery life.

Sprint Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8 Issues

Unlike in the case of the Galaxy S10, owners of Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, and Galaxy Note 8 devices on Sprint just can't connect to 4G LTE. In other words, they aren't experiencing complete loss of connection or the like.

The carrier was the first to offer Android 9 Pie for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8, but it seems it pulled the trigger a bit too early, as the software update is determined to be the root of the problem. As such, the carrier halted the update's rollout.

A company representative says that a fix will be released "soon," but how soon that is isn't clear. That might mean that users will have to make do with a 3G mobile connection and Wi-Fi for some time.
