A new report is saying that the next-gen Xbox is going to be more powerful than the PlayStation 5.

This comes hot on the heels of Mark Cerny, the lead system architect for the PlayStation 4, revealing partial specs and details of the next PlayStation, which the folks over at Sony aren't calling the PS5 yet, referring to it as its "next-gen console" instead.

Xbox Aims To Be The Most Powerful

Citing "multiple insiders," Ainsley Bowden, founder and head editor of Seasoned Gaming, says that the Xbox Anaconda has been confirmed to be "more advanced." Anaconda is reportedly one of the code names that Microsoft is using for its two consoles that are under development.

Bowden adds that the sources are "very reliable" and have had a good track record in terms of leaks.

From the look of things, Microsoft wants to continue having "the world's most powerful console," a title it bestowed on its Xbox One X.

Backing up the claims, well-known insider Klobrille says that the company is indeed aiming to be the "better performing device."

First PS5 Details

To put things into perspective, Cerny said that the PS5 is going to have an SSD, a processor based on AMD's third-generation Ryzen with eight cores using the manufacturer's 7nm Zen 2 microarchitecture, and a custom version of the Radeon Navi as its graphics card, which brings ray tracing support. With everything it has under the hood, it can support 8K. In addition, it's going to be available at an "appealing price."

If the claims of the aforementioned "insiders" turn out to be true, then the upcoming Xbox will pack even more power and impressive specs than what the PS5 has in store. Of course, it's hard to say if this is true or not, so as always, take this news with a grain of salt.
