Heads up, Fortnite fans: Microsoft appears to have worked with Epic Games for a special-edition Xbox One S coated in purple, and this bundle comes with in-game perks and other extras.

WinFuture first discovered the Fortnite-style console, which per its report will arrive in the coming weeks. The Xbox One S Fortnite Limited Edition will come with a "Dark Vertex" skin plus 2,000 V-Bucks to get Fortnite players started. This bundle is also said to include a month's worth of Xbox Live Gold, EA Access, and Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox One S 'Fortnite' Edition

It remains uncertain when Microsoft might officially announce this limited-edition bundle, but WinFuture claims it's going to cost $299 and offer 1 TB of storage right off the bat. It's also got a Blu-Ray drive, unlike the cheaper discless Xbox One released earlier this month. Most importantly, it is said to come with a copy of Fortnite, although it's unclear whether it's a digital or physical copy of the popular title.

Special edition consoles based on games is common practice, especially in the case of Microsoft, which has also released a special limited-edition version of the Xbox One S for Minecraft, complete with Minecraft decals featured on the device's body and a matching controller to go with it.

E3 Conference

This model might be a tough sell for Fortnite fans, though. Firstly, anyone who's a fan of Fortnite might already have some access to it one way or another, and they might not bother with buying a $299 just to continue playing. Secondly, Microsoft's E3 presentation is right around the corner, and Microsoft itself promises it's going to be its biggest, most significant show yet. Among the things it's rumored to showcase at the event is its next-generation console, which is expected to arrive in 2020. Depending on how impressive this said console is, players might hold off buying the current system and wait for the new one to arrive.

Still, bear in mind that these are rumors, and they must be taken with a grain of salt. Perhaps more information will come as the gaming world inches closer to E3. Microsoft is planning to hold its conference on Sunday, June 9, at 1 p.m. PT or 4 p.m. ET. This purple Xbox One S might be part of its announcements. It's also rumored to discuss its xCloud game streaming service, a new Gears 5 game, a reboot of Fable, and more.
