Mark Zuckerberg is ready for new challenges in 2015 and has even encouraged the Facebook community to give him suggestions for challenges that he can take on for the new year.

After being overwhelmed with the huge number of response, Zuckerberg has finally decided to take the proposed reading challenge, which got the most number of suggestions.

Zuckerberg revealed that every year, he would take on a challenge as a way to broaden his perspectives. Moreover, he's also interested in learning something about the world and seeing it beyond his work at Facebook.

According to Anu Passary of TechTimes, Zuckerberg has, in the past, "challenged himself to wear a tie every day, become a vegetarian, write thank you notes to an individual who made the world a better place, and meeting someone new each day who did not work at his company."

Some of the challenges that were suggested involved planting a tree, learning to cook, paying a student loan, teaching in a K-12 class and going to the South Pole on a train. One user also suggested that Zuckerberg should start making a family of his own.

One interesting idea was posted by Dave Goldblatt. He suggested Zuckerberg "record and release one hip-hop album by the end of the year."

Out of all the suggestions that came from the community, which now has over 60,000 members, Zuckerberg has decided to take the reading challenge.

"My challenge for 2015 is to read a new book every other week -- with an emphasis on learning about different cultures, beliefs, histories and technologies," said Zuckerberg in a post.

"Many of you proposed reading challenges. Cynthia Greco suggested I read one book a month that another person chooses -- and got 1,900 likes on her suggestion. Rachel Brown, Bill Munns, Marlo Kanipe and others suggested I read the Bible. My friend and colleague Amin Zoufonoun suggested I read and learn everything I can about a new country each week."

As a way to start the reading challenge, Zuckerberg further added that he has created a page where he would be posting what he is reading. Dubbed "A Year of Books," the page allows users to participate in the discussion as long as they have read the books themselves and would like to share some relevant views.

"Our first book of the year will be The End of Power by Moisés Naím," added Zuckerberg. "It's a book that explores how the world is shifting to give individual people more power that was traditionally only held by large governments, militaries and other organizations. The trend towards giving people more power is one I believe in deeply, and I'm looking forward to reading this book and exploring this in more detail."
