After refreshing the Moto Z and Moto G families, Motorola now added another smartphone to its budget line Moto E.

The Moto E6 builds on the Moto E5, Moto E5 Play, and Moto E5 Plus, but unlike its predecessors, it's available only in one model.

Moto E6 Banks On A Big Screen And Battery

Announced in a blog post, the highlighted features of the new handset are its 3,000 mAh removable battery, which is something that isn't common nowadays, and its 5.5-inch Max Vision HD+ (1,440 x 720) IPS LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 296 ppi. On top of that, Motorola also made it a point to mention that it has a 13-megapixel primary camera that supports portrait mode. It has a five-megapixel snapper on the front, for the record.

When it comes to performance, it's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 and 2 GB of RAM. According to the smartphone maker, it's 50 percent faster than the Moto E5. It runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box to boot. As for storage, it has 16 GB of native capacity that's expandable by up to 256 GB with a microSD card.

Interestingly, this is the first Moto E handset to support the chop-chop motion to activate the flashlight.

As an entry-level phone, the Moto E6's specs aren't all that surprising. In a word, it's decent, and it can get the job done as a daily driver. Case in point, its battery is touted to last 29 hours on a single charge, and it has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is a welcome feature for many.

Moto E6 Fits Into The Budget

The Moto E6 is priced at $149.99 and comes in two color options: Starry Black and Navy Blue. In other words, it won't break the bank.

It's now available in the United States, but only from Verizon at the moment. It's scheduled to become more widely available during the summer from carriers such as T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular. Retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart are expected to carry unlocked versions as well.
