Google Nest and the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is partnering for a very special project to celebrate the anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. They are giving out 100,000 Google Home Minis to people with paralysis to give them hands-free help around the home.

Americans With Disabilities Act

The ADA is a landmark legislation that is making public places more accessible to everyone, but people with disabilities or paralysis still have a lot of struggles to go through every day.

On the ADA’s 29th anniversary, Google Nest and the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation are giving away 100,000 Google Home Minis to people with paralysis to help them have hands-free help around the home.

The eligibility for a free Google Mini Home are as follows: if a person is living with a physical disability, paralysis, or mobility challenges, if a person is the caregiver of an individual with physical disability, paralysis, or mobility challenges, if a person is living within the United States, and if a person has not previously applied for a free Google Home Mini.

While the Google Home Mini is a fun and helpful tool for smart homes, for some people, it is more than a fun addition to the home that can make things a little bit better. For people with paralysis, it can be an essential tool that can help them gain independence and control of their surroundings.

The Google Home Mini is a smart speaker with a built in Google Assistant. It can get answers from Google, help people tackle their days, control smart homes, and even provide some hands-free entertainment and fun.

“I’ve been using mine for a few months, and it’s helped me control my environment, gain more independence, and have a little fun—all with my voice,” said Garrison Redd, a Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Ambassador.
