Maybe we are not aware of the fact that vaping already became an industry, but there are a lot of proofs that will back up this statement. This new type of indulging grows very fast and already has a market with huge potential. Vaping is not popular only because it's fashionable or because it's the most favorite way of transition from smoking to non-smoking. Many people prefer vaping because, as they described it, it's discreet and easy and because they can still find places where smoking is forbidden, but vaping is not.

The most famous product is e-cigarette, but there are so many ways to vape, and so many devices available in different forms: hookah, sticks, mod kits, pens, desktop vaporizers, all known as Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS). For vaping, many consumers use e-liquid based on nicotine, with the addition of other ingredients such as flavorings, vegetable glycerin, and more. The liquid gets heated, and the result of this process is aerosol, which is inhaled by the user. Nicotine-based vaping products are not the only one that can be induced by vaping. Some people use essential oils (lavender, peppermint) or hemp oil, popular for their calming effect. Others use marijuana or cbd oil, sometimes to treat some health condition or just for pleasure.

The beginning and development of vaping

Officially, the inventor of the e-cigarette, now available around the world, was Hon Lik in the year 2003, but the idea is much older. Joseph Robinson filed the patent described as "electric vaporizer holding medicinal compounds which are electrically (or otherwise) heated to produce vapors for inhalation". Of course, back in 1927, the invention wasn't even close to electronic hookah, cbd oil vape devices or any similar vaporizer, but it was the first mentioning of the system that later evolved into vaping as we know today.

Since 2003, after just 15 years, the global vaping market was estimated at over $14 billion and expected to grow to $50 billion by 2025. So far, there are already three generations of products. The first generation of e-cigarettes that was offered to the China market in the year 2004 strongly resembled big and heavy tobacco cigarettes, hence the name e-cigarettes. Because of their short battery life and lack of flavor options, they were quickly replaced with the second generation. These products are larger than the previous one but better equipped and with more options. For example, they are rechargeable, have longer battery life, easily portable, and with better quality vapor. But, despite all that is listed as a benefit to the buyer, there is a matter of health as well. Researches and studies, publicized so far, did not bring enough proofs that vaping products are or aren't less dangerous than smoking.

The third generation of products is also known as mod kits and Advanced Personal Vaporizers (APV), and their look is much different. Performances of these devices show how determent vaping industry is to reach as many customers as possible. These types of devices are created for people who are interested in customizing and personalizing their vaping experience. Vaporizers have advanced features that are not available with other products, such as digital displays, temperature setting control, higher wattage, and similar. Of course, they are the most expensive vaping products on the market and can use different types of e-liquid, from ones derived from tobacco to the vaping cbd oil.

The goals of vaping technologies

The developers of vaping technologies are continually improving their products to bring a better vaping sensation to the customers. Some companies are working on the possible use of nickel or titanium wires. They expect to get higher thermal and electrical conductivity and better results in temperature regulation sensitivity, longer life of coils, and thicker vapor clouds with more flavorful experience. This means that consumers who buy, for example, cbd vape pen, equipped with this improvement will be able to enhance and extend their vaping session.

Another feature that is currently work in progress, which will probably be interesting for many users, is a Bluetooth model. In the case of misplacing the vaporizer, the user will be able to find it, easier than ever.

The fourth generation of vaporizers is already in vape shops, and people interested in vaping can purchase voice-activated box mods or model with a different kind of illumination. Speaking of vape shops, the number of these particular type retail stores, opened exclusively for vaping products selling is rapidly increasing. However, manufacturers and sellers are forced to follow many regulations concerning production, distribution, and marketing. The main reasons for these harsh rules are consumer's health and the extremely high number of young people who start vaping at an early age. According to the FDA, the vaping youth is in potential danger of becoming traditional cigarette smokers. Besides that, the public interest regarding the use of cbd and marijuana oil is raising as well, along with the concern for the age of cbd vape and marijuana vape users.

The vaping future is here

Vaping technologies will not stop here, so we can most certainly expect more advanced products of the next generations. Vaporizers will likely have a smaller size, higher efficiency, safer and more user-friendly features, and become more entertaining and personalized to match a user's needs.

According to Michael Blaha, M.D., the director of clinical research at Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center the world needs more researching and studies about vaping, and more details on what chemicals make up the vapor and how they affect physical health over the long term.

So, before filling some high-tech mod kit, desktop vaporizer or cbd pen with favorite oil every consumer should be aware of the fact that we are still not sure how safe or unsafe vaping is.
