Electronic Arts has announced that a new event is coming to Apex Legends ahead of the game's much-anticipated third season. EA dropped the news during its latest earnings call, where it also revealed that Apex Legends: Season 2 is exceeding its expectations.

But far more important is the fact that Respawn has confirmed it will debut an in-game event in Apex Legends that will usher "new content" and give players "one of the most fan-requested features."

Apex Legends Season 3

The event will arrive "in the next few weeks," says EA CEO Andrew Wilson, as VG247 reports. The executive failed to provide any more details, but if the game is scheduled to arrive soon, it's possible more information will come shortly.

It's hard to guess what "feature" EA might be referring to, although if it's indeed the most-requested one by fans, it's safe to assume that it'll be a sizable and significant addition to the battle royale game.

Most-Requested 'Apex Legends' Feature

Fans have asked for many features for Apex Legends, so it's not an easy task to guess which one is the most requested. The most common requests are typically the addition of Titans, as Apex Legends is part of the same universe as Titanfall and Titanfall 2. Fans have also asked for a singles mode where players can compete sans a team. Would either of these happen? It's hard to say, but the possibility is certainly there. If the event turns out to be a limited-time one, there are even more chances of such requests being added, as Respawn wouldn't be required to keep balancing the mode permanently.

As for the forthcoming third season of Apex Legends, Wilson said during the call that it's "shaping up to be even bigger" than the second season. However, it will use a similar schedule of content drops and patch releases.

Season 3 is poised to begin in the second quarter of the fiscal year, which puts it sometime between now and the end of September. The game's current season two battle pass is ending in the final days of September, which opens up the perfect opportunity for the third season to start not long thereafter. Also during the call, Wilson said EA was committed to bringing Apex Legends to mobile devices, though he did not share a specific date on when this could happen.

Apex Legends is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. What are your expectations for the game's third season? As always, if you have anything to share, feel free to sound off in the comments section below!
