A new version of Fitbit Versa smartwatch is coming with new features such as AMOLED display and support for Amazon Alexa, a new leak claims.

Notorious leaker Evan Blass with Twitter handle @evleaks has leaked images of the upgraded model of the Fitbit Versa smartwatch on Thursday, Aug. 1.

If the leak is to be believed, the Fitbit Versa 2 will only have a single button, eliminating the two of the three buttons found in the current model. It also looks like the company has removed the Fitbit logo below the touch display for easy streamlined navigation.

Fitbit Versa 2 Has An Apple Watch Look

Unlike the older model, the new Fitbit Versa 2 will likely sport an AMOLED display that stunningly blends with the surrounding black bezels. Interestingly, the new model also has an Apple Watch look with its curved 2.5D glass covering the display, making the flat square screen of the first-gen Versa obsolete.

Tom's Guide notes that with the decline on the sales of Fitbit smartwatches, the Apple Watch look of the new Versa may help the company recover its former customers and even lure Apple Watch buyers.

Amazon Alexa Integration

On the inside, the rumored Amazon Alexa integration to Fitbit Versa 2 would allow users to get info and give commands from their wrist. The new feature will make it competitive with the Apple Watch that offers its own Siri integration to perform simple and complex tasks. It could also compete with Android smartwatches running Google's Wear OS platform that uses Google Assistant in performing tasks.

The Fitbit Versa was officially introduced in the market in May 2018, integrating the previous devices' fitness, sleep tracking features, heart rate sensor, and Bluetooth headphones support among other things.

The first-gen Versa is loved for its long battery life where users can use it for at least four days before the battery drains out. It has a built-in NFC support and also features smartphone notifications, streaming through Deezer and Pandora, and access to selected apps. It sports a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with 1,000 nits brightness LCD touchscreen.

It is unclear when will Fitbit announce Versa 2 or how much will it cost. The current version was at $199 when it was launched last year, shortly followed by Versa Lite at $160.
