A YouTuber from the Netherlands tried to storm Area 51, a government facility in Nevada, but his plans to "see them aliens" were immediately thwarted.

YouTuber Trespass

The Nye County Sheriff's Office arrested Ties Granzier, 20 years old, and his colleague Govert Charles Wilhelmus Jacob Sweep, 21 years old, three miles within the Nevada National Security proper and about 10 miles away from Area 51 on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

They were detained for questioning by the authorities. According to a report by 8 News Now, the YouTuber said that they were there to look at the secretive government facility. Several cameras, a phone, and a drone were found inside their vehicle.

Both men said they can understand and read English. They admitted that they have seen the "No Trespassing" sign in the facility, but entered anyway.

Granzier has a YouTube channel which has over 730,000 subscribers.

Before his arrest on Tuesday, the social media celebrity posted a photo of himself at the Grand Canyon. In the caption, he wrote that he was headed to Area 51.

Storm Area 51 Meme And A Canceled Festival

Area 51 has been the subject of many conspiracy theories regarding aliens and unidentified flying objects.

More recently, however, a Facebook event called "Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us" went viral. The plan was to meet up at the military base and see the aliens that the government has allegedly been hiding from the public.

Over 2 million people have signed up to join the raid with another 1.5 million interested in the event. Its popularity has prompted the military to issue a warning to those who are planning to trespass in the government facility.

A music festival called Alienstock that will be held in Rachel, Nevada (a town near Area 51) was scheduled to take place on Sept. 20, the day when the raid is supposed to happen.

Organizers have pulled out from the event, calling Alienstock "Fyre Festival 2.0." They canceled the festival earlier this week citing "possible humanitarian disaster."

However, Lincoln County Sheriff Kerry Lee said that the department is still expecting numerous people to arrive. He told BuzzFeed News that they have asked assistance from neighboring law enforcement to patrol the area next week.
