Now that the Pokémon GO Community Day for September is over, the October event has been announced. The featured Pokémon for the month is Trapinch, so players may be able to encounter it in the wild on the next Community Day.

October 2019 Community Day

Pokémon GO Community Day for October 2019 is on Oct. 12. On that day, players will have 3x Catch XP bonus and 3-hour Lures between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. What’s more, players will have the chance to encounter the featured Pokémon Trapinch because it will appear more frequently during those hours, and lucky players will even have the chance to encounter Shiny Trapinch, which will be easy to spot because they will be teal in color.

Players who get to evolve Trapinch during the event or within an hour afterward may unlock a Flygon with a special move. Flygon is a strong attacker, but not many players have had the chance to obtain it because Trapinch is not very common in the wild. With the event, players will have the chance to capture a Trapinch and evolve it to a Flygon.

Pokémon GO Community Day

Each month on Pokémon GO Community Day, players can go out to their local parks to encounter a special featured Pokémon for a few hours. During those events, players also get a chance to learn special moves for the featured Pokémon or for its evolved versions as long they are caught or evolved during the Community Day hours.

Players can find Pokémon GO-related meet-ups or events in their city by simply searching for them online, or through social media platforms. While these groups are not sponsored by Niantic, it is a good way of meeting other Pokémon GO enthusiasts as well.

“Celebrate what it means to be a part of the Pokémon GO community and make new friends along the way!” Niantic notes. “We can’t wait to hear about all the new memories you’ll be making while playing Pokémon GO at Community Day events!”
