In August two years ago, Bob Iger, Disney CEO, announced that the company was about to take out all of its titles from Netflix and its competitors. The decision came along with the news that Disney was planning to establish a position in the unavoidably growing streaming market through the launch of its direct-to-consumer internet service, which would be called Disney+ (Disney Plus).

Disney+, as mentioned in a cnn.com article, would offer "loads of original movies and shows, and provide a new permanent new home" for the ever-expanding library of Disney titles across the firm's portfolio of entertainment properties such as Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars. The plan appeared to be a very serious attempt to be another competitor for Apple, Netflix, and Amazon in terms of streaming video space.

Familiar-Looking Homepage

The plan that was announced in August 2017 has now materialized and, indeed, been called Disney+. It is now sharing the same streaming service with Star Wars and Marvel from which there is so much excitement to look forward to. This may be a new offer from Disney, but looking at the homepage of Disney+ can make one think it's like choosing something to watch from Netflix, too, and this is quite a positive thing.

At the top part of the homepage is a Disney+ section hosting a great range of content including "The Mandalorian," a new Star Wars series, the live-action remake of "The World According to Jeff Goldblum," or "Lady and the Tramp." Also included on the homepage are five other major brands such as Disney, Marvel, National Geographic, Pixar, and Star Wars. The films and shows on the platform are arranged in the apparently continuous scroll of categories. Once a viewer makes a selection, the service offers a button, letting its users bypass the credits for the introduction.

A Special Treat: "Avengers: Endgame" Deleted Scene

For those still deciding whether to subscribe or not to Disney+, and if the cost is one of your major considerations, here's the good news: Disney+ subscription costs $6.99 a month, which is less expensive than the monthly subscription of Netflix's "cheapest streaming cost of $9 per month." For someone who hasn't gotten over "Avengers: Endgame," he may find the price worth paying for, especially that the film is part of the special treats that come along with the Disney+ launch.

More than the movie are the unseen deleted scenes included in the film's digital version featured on this new streaming service. One of which is the tear-jerker showing Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., conversing with daughter, Morgan, played by Katherine Langford. Marvel fans are already so familiar with Langford's casting. However, those expecting her appearance got confused and somewhat disappointed when the actress was not featured in the final theatrical edition of the movie.
