Fornite has recently just kicked off a tournament called Fortnite Fishing Frenzy, the first-ever fishing event in the history of the game which will be running from Friday to Sunday, Nov. 22 to 24.

What is the Fishing Frenzy Tournament?

As the name suggests, it is a tournament that solely involves fishing; however, there are a couple of rules the players must adhere to in order to join and win.

Firstly, players aged 13 years and above are the only ones who can participate in the tournament. That being said, the players must have the two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled on their accounts to be able to receive prizes.

The game itself is pretty simple; all you need to do is catch some fish with a standard rod and reel. Remember that players are required to use the standard tool and nothing else. This means you're not allowed to use the harpoon to catch fishes or they'd be deemed ineligible and won't be counted in the total number of fishes you've caught—seriously, that would be a real waste of time and effort so make sure to follow this rule.

How do You Win in the Fishing Frenzy Tournament?

There are four different awards that are considered to be categories for the tournament. There's the Top Angler, Small Fry Champion, Flopper Champion, and Slurpfish Champion. The Top Angler refers to the player with the most fish caught in a single match, while the Small Fry Champion, Flopper Champion, and Slurpfish Champion will be awarded to the players who can catch the designated type of fishes in the duration of the competition.

This means that the Small Fry Champion is the player with the most caught Small Fry; the Flopper Champion is the person who catches the most Floppers; and the Slurpfish Champion is the one who catches the most Slurpfish.

For each of the categories mentioned above, one winner will be proclaimed from each regional server: North America, Europe, Oceania, Middle East, Asia, and Brazil; thus, there will be 24 winners at the end of the tournament.

If you consider yourself a pro at fishing and you'd really like to win, you can monitor the leaderboards in your corresponding server region in order to know how many fishes you need to win. Luckily, Epic Games and Trigger have arranged to update the leaderboards every day at 5 p.m. UTC.

What are the Prizes for the Fishing Frenzy Tournament?

The top winner in each category mentioned above will receive the real-life Llama Trophy at the end of the tournament; however, anyone who catches a Mythic Goldfish during the event will automatically get their own Bottom Feeder Pickaxe. In addition, participating in the tournament alone will immediately grant you a Play to Win Spray for free.
