Major updates will be coming to NetherRealm Studio's Mortal Kombat 11, including the arrival of Joker and krossplay—but it seems like fans want more and are petitioning to bring the infamous Star Wars villain Darth Vader to the game.

Darth Vader in Mortal Kombat 11?

According to ScreenRant, a certain fan named Mason Carr started an online petition to bring Darth Vader as one of the guest fighters in NetherRealm's fighting game as one of the two unannounced DLC characters for the game's expansion pack.

After Sindel, Joker will be coming to Mortal Kombat 11 in January 2020.

The petition is available on Change.org, and it's gaining some traction, with 298 signatures as of writing—just 201 more signatures until it reaches its goal of 500 people.

Carr has also added a few more suggestions as to Darth Vader's moves, including a Fatality or a Brutality using his Force or his Lightsaber, which are pretty good moves and rather iconic of the Star Wars franchise as a whole.

Carr does say it may not happen but said Darth Vader would be a great addition to Mortal Kombat 11, especially since it's the last game of the franchise for now.

Joker has a New Look

Several characters had been added, such as Nightwolf and Terminator, with the most recent one being a Mortal Kombat classic, Sindel and then will be followed by Joker, who is set to arrive in the game on January 28, 2020, as per Siliconera.

However, it is rather unclear whether the date will be for fans who have purchased the Kombat Pack or whether it will be a general launch date.

NetherRealm has already given their fans a sneak peek of Joker earlier this year, and many had noticed that the developers had changed his design when the new trailer was released during this year's The Game Awards.

The changes weren't drastic, but many did say he looked better and more sinister than when he was first announced with a thinner nose and receding hairline for an older and more demented look.

Still, there were a bunch of other fans who still weren't happy with Joker's new design.

Krossplay Coming Soon

Meanwhile, NetherRealm is also set to officially launch Mortal Kombat 11 crossplay—or krossplay, which is what it's officially called as per the game's FAQ page, which will allow Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users to play the game together.

Krossplay will only be available for PS4 and Xbox One as of now and only for the Online Kasual game modes and only for multiplayer.

Players can turn it on or off when they are joining Online Kasual game modes, and the game will be looking for the best match among PS4 and Xbox One players currently online and in the queue. Still, they can also manually join through designated Krossplay Online Rooms.

Krossplay is still in the testing stage, and there are still no confirmed date and time as to when it will be officially released, but it's possible we will hear more from both NetherRealm and Warner Bros. soon enough.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch.
