What Kind of game is To The Moon?

For the uninitiated, To the Moon is an adventure Role Playing Game. This game was initially developed within RPG Maker. RPG Maker is known in Japan as RPG Tsukuru or RPG Tkool. It is a series of programs for developing Role Playing Games (RPG) created by a group from Japan called ASCII and succeeded by Enterbrain.
To The Moon is a 2D adventure game that follows Dr. Eva Rosalene and Dr. Neil Watts. They worked to give end-of-life patients a chance to relive their life over again but only inside their heads. Here is the official blurb:

"Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts have peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live, all the way from the very beginning...but only in their patient's heads. Due to the severity of the operation, the new life becomes the last thing the patients remember before drawing their last breath. Thus the operation is only done to people on their deathbeds, to fulfill what they wish they had done with their lives, but didn't."

To The Moon - a Tear jerker

That official blurb gives a brief idea of what this game is all about. Expert gamers say that the main strength of this game is not really on the gameplay but the story. Players also express that this game is an emotional roller coaster. One Reddit user comments that as much as he wants to replay this game, he cannot go through the heartbreak again. Another user commented that he loved it, and he played through it one time. He said he wished he could have his memories erased and wiped clean so he can have another emotional rollercoaster as the puzzle unfolds and the revelation hits. The bittersweetness was done to perfection, and the music was gorgeous too. Another user recommends the sequel Finding Paradise if you have not gotten a chance to check it out yet but wasn't sure if it has been ported to Switch, however.
