JUST IN:  Earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 has struck very close to Magna, according to the University of Utah Seismograph Stations. This has been quite the wakeup alarm as the earthquake happened on Mar. 18 at 7:09 a.m.

There were about 13,000 customers of the Rocky Mountain Power who were experiencing outages caused by the earthquake.

The last time Utah experienced something like this was way back 1992

Back in 1992, Utah was hit with a 5.9 magnitude earthquake over at St. George, which was also a devastating blow! Utah Emergency Management has not forgotten the huge quake, which has caused quite an amount of damage.

The quake was felt by citizens from Salt Lake Country and Ogden

Residents of Salt Lake Country and Ogden have been the victims of the strong quake and have felt how the ground shook underneath them. People in Wyoming have also reported that they have felt the shake as well.

The aftershocks kept coming

After the initial hit of the quake, there were following aftershocks. The following includes a part of the continual shocks which citizens were still feeling.

One at 7:14 a.m. which had a magnitude of 2.8

Two at 7:15 a.m. which had a magnitude of 2.5

Three at 7:15 a.m. as well which had a magnitude of 3.7

Four at 7:18 a.m. which had a magnitude of 3.4

Five at 7:23 a.m. which had a magnitude of 3.8

Six at 7:27 a.m. which had a magnitude of 2.5

The Utah Emergency Management has also reported a loss in power

The Utah Emergency Management has just reported outages for approximately 32,000 customers starting 7:45 a.m., which was spread westward, starting from Salt Lake City and West Valley City to Magna and Station Park over in Tooele County.

So far, there are zero deaths reported

The only reports being passed were that damages were seen on infrastructures. Thankfully, there were no deaths, as well as major injuries. Every school in the Weber School District has announced that they will be closed as the officials are still assessing the damage caused by this earthquake.

Further information about the quakes has yet to be released

So far, the authorities are still assessing the total damage caused by this earthquake to see if there were really zero casualties or whether there have been a few citizens that were overlooked. The investigation is ongoing, but because of the huge area of effect which this earthquake has covered, the results might take a while.
